AudioAI Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 2, 2026 | Last updated: August 2, 2026
1. Who we are / Controller
The developer/operator of AudioAI is the data controller for personal data processed through the Service, unless otherwise stated for a specific processing activity. For privacy requests, contact us using the support channel listed on our App Store product page, or through in-app support if available.
2. Scope
This Policy applies to:
- the AudioAI iOS / macOS apps and related websites or pages we operate for the Service (including legal pages);
- account, membership, Credits, and purchase-related processing;
- audio/video files you upload or import for AI processing; and
- communications related to support and service notices.
3. Important notice about audio and voice data
Audio files you provide may contain personal data, including voiceprints/biometric-like characteristics, spoken names, contact details, health or other sensitive information, or conversations involving other people. You are responsible for ensuring you have all rights and permissions needed to upload and process such content, including consents from other individuals whose voices or personal information appear in your recordings, where required by law.
We process audio only to provide the features you request (for example vocal separation, noise removal, vocal cleanup, or audio extraction). We do not sell your recordings.
4. Information we collect
4.1 Information you provide
- Media content: audio/video files, filenames, and related metadata you import or upload for processing.
- Support communications: information you send when contacting support.
- Optional profile details: nickname or similar fields if you choose to set them.
4.2 Information collected automatically
- Device / account identifiers: a device-generated identifier used to create and restore an anonymous account, sync Credits/membership status, and prevent abuse.
- App and usage data: feature usage related to tasks (for example task type, status, timestamps, error codes), approximate app version, and basic device/OS information needed for compatibility and diagnostics.
- Network and technical logs: IP address, request timestamps, and server logs generated when your device communicates with our servers (for security, fraud prevention, and troubleshooting).
- Local app data: cached account tokens, task history, and temporary working files stored on your device.
4.3 Purchase and subscription information
- In-app purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple.
- We receive purchase validation data needed to deliver entitlements (for example product identifiers, transaction identifiers, original transaction identifiers, purchase/expiration timestamps, and receipt verification results).
- We do not receive your full payment card number. Apple handles payment method processing.
4.4 Information we do not intentionally collect
We do not require your name, email, or phone number to create a basic anonymous account. We do not use the Service to build advertising profiles, and we do not use your audio content for third-party advertising.
5. How we use information (purposes and legal bases)
Depending on your jurisdiction, we rely on one or more of the following bases: performance of a contract, legitimate interests, consent, and legal obligations.
- Provide the Service: run AI audio features, manage task queues/results, maintain your Credits and membership status.
- Account and security: authenticate sessions, prevent fraud/abuse, protect service integrity.
- Purchases: verify Apple receipts, restore subscriptions, fulfill consumable Credits, and prevent duplicate grants.
- Support and operations: diagnose failures, improve reliability, respond to requests.
- Legal compliance: comply with applicable laws, enforce terms, and respond to lawful requests.
- Product improvement: analyze aggregate/de-identified usage patterns (for example feature success rates). We do not use your private recordings to train public marketing models.
6. AI processing and third-party processors
To deliver certain AI features, your media may be transmitted to our servers and/or subprocessors that perform audio analysis or transformation on our behalf. These providers process data only to perform the requested task and under contractual/security obligations where applicable.
Categories of processors may include:
- Cloud AI audio processors used for vocal separation, denoising, or speech cleanup;
- Cloud infrastructure / storage / logging used to host APIs and operational logs;
- Apple for In-App Purchase and subscription validation.
When media is sent for processing, transmission is performed over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) where supported. You should avoid uploading recordings that you are not authorized to process, or that contain highly sensitive information unless necessary.
7. How we share information
We share personal data only as needed for the purposes above:
- Service providers / processors that help us operate AI features, hosting, security, and purchase validation;
- Apple for store, payment, and subscription services;
- Legal / safety disclosures if required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and integrity;
- Business transfers in connection with a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, subject to continuing confidentiality protections.
We do not sell your personal information and do not share audio content for cross-context behavioral advertising.
8. Data retention
- Uploaded media / task outputs: retained only as long as needed to complete your requested processing, deliver results, provide short-term retrieval in Task Center, troubleshoot failures, and prevent abuse. Temporary files may be deleted automatically after a limited period or when no longer needed.
- Account, Credits, membership, and order records: retained while your account remains active and for a reasonable period afterward for accounting, fraud prevention, dispute handling, and legal compliance.
- Server logs: retained for a limited operational period unless needed longer for security investigations or legal obligations.
- Local device data: remains on your device until you delete the app/data or clear app storage.
When retention ends, we delete or irreversibly de-identify data, except where retention is required by law.
9. Security measures
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to the nature of audio data, including:
- encryption in transit (TLS) for server communications;
- access controls and least-privilege practices for production systems;
- receipt/transaction deduplication controls for purchases;
- monitoring for abuse and unauthorized access attempts.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. You should protect your device with a passcode/biometrics and avoid processing highly confidential recordings on shared devices.
10. International data transfers
Our servers and/or subprocessors may be located in countries different from your country of residence. Where required, we take appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers (for example contractual protections with processors). By using the Service, you understand that your data may be processed in such locations.
11. Your privacy rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- correct inaccurate data;
- delete your account and associated personal data;
- restrict or object to certain processing;
- data portability;
- withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
- lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
To exercise these rights, contact us via the App Store support channel. We may need to verify your request (for example by confirming device/account identifiers) before acting on it. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
Account deletion: You may request deletion of your account data. After verification, we will delete or anonymize account-linked server data, except records we must retain for legal, tax, accounting, security, or dispute-resolution purposes (for example purchase records). Deleting the app from your device alone may not delete server-side account data; please submit an explicit deletion request.
12. Children’s privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it. Do not upload recordings of children unless you are the parent/guardian or have all legally required consents.
13. Push notifications, tracking, and advertising
- We do not use App Tracking Transparency for cross-app advertising tracking at this time.
- We do not sell personal data to data brokers.
- If we later add analytics or advertising SDKs that require additional disclosures/consent, we will update this Policy and obtain required consents.
14. Your responsibilities when uploading recordings
- Only upload content you own or are authorized to process.
- Obtain any legally required consents from people whose voices appear in your recordings before uploading.
- Do not use the Service to process unlawful, harmful, or infringing content.
- Consider redacting or avoiding recordings that contain passwords, financial data, government IDs, medical information, or other sensitive data.
15. California and similar U.S. state disclosures
If you are a resident of California or another U.S. state with consumer privacy laws, you may have rights to know/access, delete, correct, and opt out of “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. We do not sell personal information. To exercise rights, contact us as described above. We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights.
16. EEA/UK disclosures
If GDPR/UK GDPR applies, our legal bases are described in Section 5. You may contact your local data protection authority if you have concerns. Where we rely on legitimate interests, we balance those interests against your rights and expectations, especially for private audio content.
17. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date and, where required, provide additional notice in the app or on this page. Continued use of the Service after an update means you acknowledge the updated Policy.
18. Contact
For privacy questions, data requests, or complaints, contact us through the support information on the AudioAI App Store product page. Please include enough information for us to locate your account (for example approximate purchase date or device account identifiers if available).
This document is provided for transparency and compliance support and does not constitute legal advice. You should have counsel review jurisdiction-specific requirements for your launch markets.
